Travel Assistance Payments Scheme
The scheme is intended for permanent residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead who are unable to use conventional public transport because of their disability and who do not drive.
The Travel Assistance Payments Scheme provides a member with a personal ‘travel pot’ of £100 with People to Places which must be used within a 12 month period and is not transferable.
Applicants must be a resident within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and demonstrate they meet one or more of the following criteria:
Registered blind or partially sighted
Have a permanent and substantial disability, which means you are unable to walk or have considerable difficulty in walking
Have a learning disability
Are ineligible to drive a motor vehicle on the grounds of physical fitness, except where this is due to persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol
Applicants holding a bus pass must surrender it to be eligible for inclusion on TAPS.
