Volunteer Driver

We have 15 minibuses carrying people with mobility issues around the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.   Volunteers are crucial to us providing this service, driving members both locally and longer distances.

All our members are unable to drive their own transport or use public transport due to their specific mobility limitations.   We have members of all ages and with a variety of mobility issues, who may often use a range of aids, from walking sticks to electric scooters, or even a guide dog.  Often members will have a Support Assistant travelling with them.

Regular and flexible rosters are available for our Volunteers.

Volunteers must hold a full and valid UK driving licence with a D1 category.

Volunteer drivers will be given Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) training before they are able to drive a People to Places minibus.    This will be arranged by People to Places at no cost to a Volunteer.
